TREKACT Platform Facilitates Social Inclusion Through Outdoor Sports

The TREKACT project, an 18-month Erasmus+ initiative, has successfully launched its innovative platform, aimed at championing the social inclusion of immigrant and refugee families. With a powerful focus on outdoor sports, TREKACT stands as a beacon of hope for communities seeking integration and belonging.

The core objective of TREKACT is to facilitate the seamless integration of refugee and immigrant families through the dynamic mediums of trekking and outdoor sports. Recognizing the transformative potential of sports in personal, social, and professional development, the project embodies the belief that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves equal opportunities for growth and well-being.

At the heart of TREKACT lies a transnational partnership between four NGOs spanning three countries: Poland, France, and Belgium. This collaborative effort has led to the development of a user-friendly digital guide and a mobile app version, tailored to meet the unique needs of refugee and host families, local NGOs, and sports organizations.

The digital tools created by TREKACT open the door to a wider audience, democratizing access to the benefits of outdoor sports. They offer an avenue for enhanced community engagement, providing a platform for individuals to connect, learn, and grow together.

To celebrate the completion of the digital guide and mobile app, TREKACT organized a series of trekking events, bringing together local residents and refugees on shared journeys. These events not only provided hands-on experiences in the great outdoors but also served as catalysts for invaluable social interactions, fostering unity amidst diversity.

Now live and available for download, the TREKACT platform marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of social inclusion and community empowerment. By harnessing the power of outdoor sports, TREKACT is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of immigrant and refugee families, helping them find their place in a welcoming and supportive society.
